Pregnant Rihanna is honored with a marble ‘baby bump’ statue at the 2022 MET Gala
Pregnant Rihanna is honoured with a marble statue replica of her recent Vogue cover at the Met Gala as she misses out on ceremony ahead of welcoming first child
Rihanna received the honour of a lifetime at this year’s Met Gala as she was immortalised in a marble statue at the New York Metropoitan Museum of Art.
The singer, 34, was unable to attend this year’s star-studded event as she is heavily pregnant with her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky.
But the hitmaker was certainly not forgotten as a towering statue of her, complete with a baby bump, was revealed.
The statue was shown in a video shared on Vogue’s Instagram account, which comes after Rihanna graced the cover of this month’s issue.
Alongside the video, the caption read: ‘The statue of ‘Eirene (The Personification of Peace)’ is usually the highest-profile marble goddess @themetmuseum Greco-Roman galleries. But now we’ve got @badgalriri, straight off this month’s Vogue cover.’
Rihanna also shared the video on her account and wrote: ‘shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol!
‘Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one!’
