POLICE NAB DISPATCH RIDER FOR CAR THEFT ••• Recover stolen vehicle

The Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended a twenty-three year-old dispatch rider for making off with a Toyota Camry, 2010 model.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Command’s Spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated that, “Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have apprehended a twenty-three year-old dispatch rider for making off with a Toyota Camry, 2010 model.”

According to the statement, “The suspect, Ternia Samuel, was apprehended at the RRS headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja. The suspect had made away with the car key of a sympathizer who came soliciting for the release of Samuel’s unregistered Denstar motorcycle from RRS officials in Dopemu, Agege.”

“This incident happened on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at about 2200 hrs, when RRS operatives on patrol intercepted Samuel’s unregistered motorcycle with a passenger on Dopemu Bridge. A concerned passerby, who claimed to be Samuel’s brother, witnessed the interception, intervened by pleading for the release of the bike.”

“It was during this encounter that Samuel brazenly snatched the passerby’s car key, jumped into his Toyota Camry car, and sped off. Though the RRS operatives pursued him, he managed to evade capture only to be arrested and vehicle recovered by Shasha Police Division minutes after the incident. The passerby, upon questioning, confessed to only trying to assist Samuel by claiming to be his brother.”

“Meanwhile, Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, has directed the prompt arraignment of the suspect.”
