“I am proud of Nigeria and my son” Ademola Lookman’s dad

Ademola Lookman’s dad was delighted after his son’s goal against Angola saw Nigeria progress to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations

Nigeria prevailed with a 1-0 win, with Atalanta’s Lookman finding the net in the 41st minute.

Following their victory, Nigeria will face either Cape Verde or South Africa in the last four.

Lookman’s father was interviewed after the game and said: ‘I’m happy, I’m overwhelmed, I am so happy. I’m pleased for Nigeria winning this game.’

The English/Nigerian footballer was born on the 20th day of October 1997 to Nigerian parents in the town of Wandsworth, London. Before his teenage years, Ademola Lookman’s parents relocated the family – from his birthplace of Wandsworth to London’s Peckham. The youngster grew up in Peckham, a tough neighbourhood which is often considered one of the worst places to live in London.

After taking seven points from their three group stage fixtures, Nigeria finished in second place in Group A.

They subsequently managed to get the better of Cameroon before overcoming Angola.

The Peckham native comes from Nigerian parents who belong to a group of interesting Londoners.

Put simply, the media describes Ademola Lookman’s Dad and Mum as strict, funny, sassy, and very educated persons. He Londoner comes from a middle-class family and never suffered lack during his childhood.

Ademola Lookman’s parents operated a traditional household, with high regard for the Nigerian culture. They were the type who wanted their children to become lawyers or accountants and NOT footballers.

Since childhood, becoming a footballer has been his biggest dream. There were no signs of wanting to become a lawyer or accountant as his parents wanted. Today, the Lookman family is proud to recognize the man the winger has become.
